It is wall to wall flowers in the garden at the moment. I love these huge moon flowers that open up at dusk. The vine has grown up and over my brick wall. So pretty sitting out in the courtyard at night. Next year I think I will plant a white garden.
Your flowers are superb, Catherine. So fluffy! I never thought of a completely white garden. It would look rather bewitching at night with just a few strategically positioned lights illuminating it.
I love flowers and Hydrangeas are no exception! You must have a fairly acid soil because they are mainly blue.
I've had a few varieties myself over the years and one was a huge cream conical shaped one, but I lost it one winter :o( I haven't forgotten the one called Tutti Fruitti (another conical shaped that's raspberry and creamy white...it changes as the season goes on..it's still only a baby though) that I currently have and will take some better photo‘s for you.
I love the sky blue Morning Glory’s…never heard of Moon Flowers, but they are huge flowers! :o)) Wonderful! :o)
I've had all on colour flower beds...they do look immensely effective, etc., and a all white one was one of them. ;o))
Last night there was no way to leave a comment but I see that today bloggers recognize me, so I say: "That's what you needed watering can!" ;-) Mini hugs an have a nice weekand Flora

Welcome to my blog!
I am artist and a metalsmith. I have always loved miniatures and dollhouses. My interest in making miniatures is not restricted to the metal work I do. This year I plan to design and build a dollhouse.
I do not sell the miniatures I am making right now while I am trying to build my own collection.

ReplyDeleteLove the hydrangeas !
I adore hydrangeas and yours looks so fresh and beautiful, the colors are fantastic!
ReplyDelete...can we shrink these to 12th scale...?
I love Hydrangea , but you have a lot of chance because they don't want to grow in my garden to lot of sun !!!
ReplyDeleteHi Catherine,I love the vine in your garden. Can you tell me ,what's the name of it? Jeannette
ReplyDeleteIsn't summer Grand? My garden is full of Roses! I Love your Hydrangeas and the Moonflower is Enormous! Happy Gardening!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful display of colour.
ReplyDeleteJeannette... Those are called moon flowers. They are a relative of the morning glory. Once they get started they grow like mad can cover anything!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful hygrangeas...mine have just a few petals so far.
ReplyDeleteI love moon flowers and plan on getting some when I get round to planting...I am seriously considering an all white garden too.
Your flowers are superb, Catherine. So fluffy! I never thought of a completely white garden. It would look rather bewitching at night with just a few strategically positioned lights illuminating it.

Thank you Catherine! I have to look if Moon Flowers also grow here in Germany,it's a fantastic flower !Jeannette
ReplyDeleteJeannette... I am sure you can get those seeds in Germany. I bet if will do just fine. It is something you do have to plant every year anyway.
ReplyDeleteMost of the time I spend in the west courtyrad is at night so a white garden makes sense in that respect.
The east courtyard can remain my color garden. That is the one that I see in the morning from the kitchen.
The ruler is for our reference, Catherine?! :P
ReplyDeleteHope it will work this time. I had trouble to leave you messages for a long time!
