Waiting For The Trees

I have been busy making another nutshell cottage. Cutting the braces for the roof (over the front door) was a bit tricky. They are about 6 mm long and had to have a 45 degree angle cut on both ends.

This house will have a furnished bedroom on the second floor. Visible through the octagon 360 degree surround windows. Just one problem... I am totally out of acorn caps in all sizes.

While I wait for supplies to fall, I thought I would make some stick pins using the front entrance of this cottage design. They will be just over one inch tall. I thought it would be fun to wear on the lapel of a wool jacket with jeans.

  10. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could shrink down enough to visit an acorn cottage? I'll bet they would be as sweet to visit as they are to see on your hand.

  16. This will be yet another adorable nuttcottage! I'd love to see how you will do the interior on one of these, very fascinating!

Pitty you have to wait for nature to deliver the supplies when the time is right. But when she delivers, there will probably be enough for a whole year of nuttcottage-makin'!?

  18. Wonderful little nutshell cottage ( I wrote nut house first, but that sounded just wrong!). I love the porch on it, such lovely detail. It is a bit early for wool jackets, but it is a great idea to make it into a brooch!
I totally missed your post on the give away, what a beautiful gift!
