These two spice barrel jars arrived yesterday. When I ordered them I really
didn't notice what size they were. I have some of Terry's barrel jars and they
are 1 1/8 inch tall. I was thrilled when I opened the package to see how tiny they are. His work is getting very hard to find.
Kaneel is Dutch for cinnamon and safran is French for saffron.
It's a good thing I bought a bigger hutch.
Perfect fit!
ReplyDeleteMuy bonitos.

Très joli ;-)
ReplyDeleteYour china is all so exquisite! They look wonderful on the larger dresser! How is the kitchen planning coming? I always look forward to seeing your "arrangements" they are always so perfectly gorgeous and precisely to scale!
ReplyDeleteThank you! What a lovely comment.
DeleteI know exactly what the kitchen will look like. I have all the plans drawn out.
Kitchens are my favorite room in any house. Every where I have ever lived everyone has always gravitated to the kitchen. Even now when I have a huge living room.
I am so busy working on the carpet I really haven't got time to do anything else. It takes me so long to stitch just one square inch. UGH! It will all be worth it though.
I agree absolutely with Betsy! I also love your arrangements. You have such a knack for putting your beautiful things together.
ReplyDeleteThank you Lucille. How sweet of you to say that.
DeleteHello Catherine,
ReplyDeleteGreat purchases. His work is really beautiful and very well made.
Big hug,

They're superb, great additions to your hutch.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh I love your taste in china! I especially enjoy the variety of it and that it has different points of origin as well as being somewhat rare and hard to find. You display it with such panache and such a sure hand. I am glad to hear that you have a soft spot for kitchens. I think that most people do most of their entertaining in them, even if they have a large dining and living room. There is just something about standing around and chatting in the kitchen when the cook is busy that is simply irresistible! Congratulations on your Beautiful little jars and for sharing them with us!

The jars are lovely! I wonder why he put ' Kaneel' on there...maybe because someone commissioned it that way from him, or maybe because the Dutch imported many spices, including cinnamon? Who knows. They look beautiful in your cabinet. A very nice addition to your wonderful collection!
