Roses

This is one of the English old roses kits I ordered from France. Finally...I got them together and in the vase today! I am afraid the rest of the flower kits I ordered are going to have to wait. They don't have English translations yet. I opened them up and looked at all the pieces, then quickly closed the plastic zipper bag!!! LOL

The glass powder jar, perfume bottle and white vase with the pink rim were made by my old friend Frank Whittemore. I am sure you recognize the mail Linda made for me. I love it so much I put in a few pieces in most of the pictures I take. :-)

  21. Hello Catherine ! Roses are just amazing and I love the details and accessories ! If you have some problem with translation, maybe I can help you. I've a lot of Pascal Garnier's kits, my english is not perfect but I can try to explain the differents steps. It'll be a pleasure, well if you want, you can contact me.
    Have a nice day,

  23. Beautiful roses...old English cabbage roses always reind me of peonies (which are my favorite flowers!) I have a friend who translates all my French instructions for me. Let me know if I can be of service. I can usually figure these things out from a picture but have learned that there is often a "crucial" written step that must be read...some small hint that makes it all so much easier. Have fun!

  26. CWPoppets,

I think the most beautiful flower kits are made by Pascale Garnier. She does not have a website but you can email her for a list of her kits. Be sure to write in the subject title that you want flower kit information. This is her email address. pascale-garnier(AT)sfr.fr Be sure to replace the (AT) with the @ sign in her email. I don't want her to be getting spam as a result of me publishing her address here.

  27. I think you will be able to customize the kit, with your gentle touch and elegant ... I see you've already had several proposals for translation, so I did not add. But if you need, know that French is a language I know best of English :-)
I love to read mainly in French and I took care of some translations in my language, for sheer pleasure ...
So do not be ruthless in the future :-)
As Rosanna, I agree that your photos are a succession of fantastic objects :-)
    Mini frech hugs, Flora

  33. The roses are beautiful! They remind me of the old fashioned varieties in the photos in Victoria Magazine.. They are such an inspiration for me; as is your work!

  34. Thanks everyone!

Carol... Victoria Magazine was my all time favorite. I have issues that go way back including the first issue. I usually throw away magazines but I can't make myself pitch those. They are a great inspiration for many different projects.

  35. The flowers look so delicate, I'm still afraid to attempt flower kits. And such a lovely setting, all special pieces that work so well together :)

And thanks for dropping by to say hi :) I've missed all my blog friends!

  36. Your vignette is so lovely! You inspire me to complete a flower kit myself. I just received mine from Pascale and I too took a peek and quickly closed the bag. They are so tiny! I have some of the translations, but for me, I am not really sure what they mean. So I have not started just yet. I may end up just figuring it out on my own. I even looked on Youtube hoping someone posted a video of creating one. None there yet.
You did a fantastic job creating your roses. I love how you put the letters there. It looks so real.
    Hugs,
    Terri
