Nope! It's not going to be a human.

I haven't got much to show or tell you. Though I have a few birthday presents I haven't photographed yet.

I have been busy making something for a friend and fellow blogger . It has been slow going but I am getting there. If she likes it... And that is a big huge IF. You will see it first on her blog.

Making something for someone so talented makes me nervous. Particularly when it is something I have never even tried before. She might just fling it in the bin, so don't count on ever seeing it.

Wish me luck. It is time to get on with the hard part.

  1. Pas un être humain ??? mais pourtant je devine une futur main d'une personne de couleur ! et cela a l'air de bien commencer .

  2. I'll wish you good luck - GOOD LUCK! - despite the fact that I don't think you'll need it or that the lucky recipient would throw it away.
I'm gonna guess it's a pair of welders gauntlets, =0p

  3. Moi, je suis sûre que cela sera parfait . Je n'ai aucun doute . C'est parfois très bien de travailler avec la pression , on est encore meilleur , hihi !
J'avoue que c'est stressant , j'ai hâte de voir le résultat comme tout le monde .

  9. Catherine,
you make me laugh, you are such an artist.... full of self doubt. You past work is an example of the high standard of workman ship you achieve so I'm sure this new project will only bring delight to your friend. How fortunate she is!!

P.S that hand looks amazing and I know how difficult it is to get the proportions right!

  12. It probably has something to do with gloves, although an alien would be real cool! :-)

  15. My dear, we've become accustomed to bet that is the biggest challenge for you, the better (and exciting) will be the result :-)
Now, I see a great hand and I'm very curious to see who it belongs to ...
    Lovely hugs,

  16. Oh, I see all have done a hypothesis: for me, it could be one of those hands soap dish or port pins that were used in the Victorian era...

  17. I'm very curious.....

  18. All the best artists doubt their talent and second guess their work, that's what makes you great.

People like myself can just sit here to admire and inspire to be half as good as you.

I think your friend will cherish it don't forget even famous artists are mini addicts ;P

  19. Hi Catherine! Hands are one of the most challenging things to make in Miniature or otherwise! Whenever I am looking at doll house dolls that is one of the first things that I inspect because not all good dolls have great hands!
Your photo of the hand and the arm are Wonderful so I think that You are already Home free!

  20. Hi Catherine, me again! Could this be the arm of a boy figurine touchier? ( I forget the proper name of them)

  21. Elizabeth,

Thank you for the vote of confidence. I having been trying for hours to get just the right.... look. Clay is not always cooperative. At least not for me. Just when you get the perfect angle the damn stuff wiggles. I wish it was stiffer.

I have no idea what you mean by a touchier. Could you find another word I am curious about your meaning.

Thank you for your kind words about the hand.

    1. Hi Catherine! I had to give up trying to find the proper name for what I was thinking of, so never mind. Hah! Second guess is that of a 'Bronze' Jardiniere figurine.?

  22. Hi Catherine, The hand is looking good but I wonder what it will become? Perhaps a jewellery stand?
