A New Chair Style

Among other things... I have been making this new chair. It was a bit more difficult to upholster then the other ones I have made because of the squared ends on the seat cushion. I was very happy to find this fabric because I never thought I would find anything that could be in the same room as the William Morris wing chair I made. The beautifully carved legs are ones made for me by Linda Master http://miraclechicken.blogspot.com/. Thank you Linda!!!

I was very pleased to find two porcelain pieces by Terry Curran, A jar of clotted cream from 'Harrods' and a tiny container of hot coco powder. I don't know what it is but I love ceramics that have writing on them.

  2. Yet another gorgeous chair Catherine, and the setting is perfect, I really want to shrink into that scene, slip off my riding boots, throw down my ultra-chic handbag and delve into the Harrods shopping bag for more goodies. I shall peruse the books while sipping hot chocolate from the finest porcelain, mmmm ...

  3. Ooooh what a wonderful job of aligning the pattern on the chair cushion with the rest of the chair!!! It truly looks like a 1:1 scale piece of furniture!!! Very well done!!! And the whole arrangement with the china and the boots and the books.... Awesome attention to scale and detail!!!

  8. Hi Catherine! What a great shape to the back and the seat of this chair! I love the twisted cord trim that you have around the seat cushion and on the arms too! The pattern is very delicate and very pretty and it certainly translates well into this setting and makes itself at home among all of your lovely treasures. I also like china with lettering on it and own a small bowl of "Potted beef" just because I enjoy the title although I have never had or even know what "Potted beef" looks like.:)) My mother-in-law introduced me to clotted cream and what a difference between the taste of it and regular whipped cream! A real indulgence for sure!

  14. Beautiful chair, Catherine, it looks so comfy and inviting and you certainly did a great job with the upholstery. Love the porcelain, I have a full size French mustard pot with blue lettering on a cream background, one of my favorite antique fair finds.

  21. The fabric is a real find Catherine! It works very well with the Morris fabric as it looks very much like one of the more simple Morris patterns. The shape of the chair is lovely and your upholstery is perfect.
I like the porcelain pieces, I've never seen those in miniature before. The whole scene is so wonderful, just right for coming home from shopping on a cold afternoon.
