Sculpting with this new (gooey) polymer clay is a bit madding. Even if you leach it out on paper over night. it is easier to add a bit of clay to the piece and bake for a few minutes. Other wise you mess up what you just finished sculpting in a different area. I refine the clay with an X acto # 11 blade and sand paper. There is strong wire in the all the limbs and ears and body. He still needs some work before he gets his coat.

Beautiful rabbit.
ReplyDeleteGreetings Xandra
Your animals are just so amazing! I am sorry the clay isn't behaving well
ReplyDeleteThey're Multiplying.....?? Rabbits often do, huh ;) LOL!!
ReplyDeleteThis one looks great so far.
Hugs, Ilona
They have a habit of doing that Catherine...lol! This little fellow looks fabulous.....it is impossible to only have one rabbit, I wonder where you/they will stop? Lx
ReplyDeleteHi Catherine,
ReplyDeleteIt's really neat to see the bodies before you fur them and for you to explain how you do things. They look so beautiful even without their coats :-) Ooh! How about a white rabbit???
Susan
Tienes una habilidad para moldear envidiable.
ReplyDeleteTe quedan espectaculares, felicidades:-)
ReplyDeleteIt's in their nature Catherine ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt looks adorable, even without fur. I see a nice background in your photos, don't tell me that's what you use to sculpt on???
Oh no! That is an antique French marquetry vanity table. It has a gorgeous design of a basket of flowers in the middle. ;-)
DeleteYour bunnies look so real! All your animals are amazingly detailed and gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI have not tried any of the "new" polymer clays... how do you know it is new and not old? Did they change the name and the packaging or just the recipe?
They changed the formula. I think the EPA made them do it.
DeleteHow sweet! She's looking good :)
ReplyDeleteWell I think the first one is a boy and this one is a girl and since they're multiplying anyhow, perhaps they'll have a little one????
You amaze me with your talent, everything you make is art!
ReplyDeleteThank you Everyone.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous.
ReplyDeleteYour bunny is gorgeous so far!
ReplyDeleteThe rabbit looks great already! It will be lovely with it's fur on. Just like the one in your former post....
ReplyDeleteYou are so talented. It's a pleasure to read and watch the pictures of your blog.
ReplyDeleteПривет!

Татьяна
Большое спасибо!
DeleteEs perfecto!
ReplyDeleteHuhu! He looks gorgeous, even without fur! And his ears are...so adorable!
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend!
Sandra
I'm with Susan. It's nice to see the naked bunny before he gets furred up. It's a very exacting skill, I think. He looks fab!
ReplyDeleteI love the rabbit too Catherine and I am not surprised that your talents extend to rabbits as well as dogs and cats. Your talents are manifold and the expressions that you give to your mini pets are natural with just the right amount of twinkle in their eyes!
