OOPS! I missed posting this on Fathers Day
These are my parents. They did not have me until late in life. Aren't they gorgeous!
I have been working on a couple of very simple fine silver frames
1: 12 scale. Before I finished them I wanted to see if I could successfully take pictures of framed photos. I really didn't want to disturb the framing to reduce them and I don't have a scanner. I may just have to take the photos out of the frame to do it properly.
My Dad is gone now but I think about him every day. He was among many other things a true gentleman. In the old fashion sense of the words meaning. They don't make many of them anymore.

Moviestars indeed, I agree! Through these beautifull pictures, and your memories even more beautifull, they will live always.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about the frames you'll make for these classic pictures
Wonderful photo's! Now I can see who you take after. ;o) No doubt you have some very happy memories of them both. :o)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing the silver frames.

P.S. Overhere you can get perfect copies made of old photo's. I am sure the service is offered in the US and they should be able to reduce them to 1/12th scale.

Your parents look like the distinguished movie stars of days gone by. A truly handsome man and gorgeous woman! You must be so proud of them. I agree with you that there are not too many old fashioned gentlemen left. That is, if there are any. Life has changed so much, too much! Looking forward to seeing what you do with those precious photos.

Thanks everyone. :-)
ReplyDeleteRosanna... My hand is much better thank you. At least with this current issue. There are others that will have to be addressed in the future. I am sure more surgery is ahead at some point.
I see you had a good show. How could Paris be anything other than wonderful. :-)
Ils sont beaux vos parents ! c'est vrai en France on dirait des stars américaines des années 1950.
ReplyDeleteDans la maison de poupées de ma fille , j'ai mis mes parents dans des petits cadres aussi sur la cheminée.

ReplyDeleteIt is a lovely thing to be able to put pretty personal touches in your dollshouse. And anything in silver always gets my vote!
your mum looks like a movie star; your dad very handsome!
ReplyDeleteJosje...You missed that banashed post. It wasn't there long! Though I am sure it is still in the achives in your dashboard.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for you kind comments about my parents. I don't know if I will put the framed photos of them in my dolhouse but It will be fun to have them in 1: 12 scale somewhere.
Catherine, your parents are very handsome and beautiful, respectively! And they passed their good looks on to their daughter! I know I never like a picture of myself until it is at least two years gone by.... at which point I start to think it looks pretty nice...!:) I have taken photos of photos... but usually not through glass.... I love the idea of mini versions of photos I own... and plan to make som of my Grandmother and great-grandmother in their wedding photos... I look forward to seeing your finished frames..... everything you do is so refined and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteCatherine, I have just seen a photo of you on the sidebar of a website. You look gorgeous! I thought you looked like your mother. I wish you had not removed it. You should be proud of your looks!

i'm catching up on reading and I'm glad not to miss this lovely post. It's moving, just moving to see such personal en really beautiful pictures of your parents. I agree with some comments; why not cherish and honor them with a place in your dolls house? I'm proud our daughter is framed and decorates the house of her Nanny. These magnificent glamour photo's would set any room alight and It makes any dolls house truly your house.
